Stitch Pattern of the Week

Hello, my lovelies! It's been a while since I blogged again. What with the current situation we have all been in, now the kids are back in school I've been playing catch up with pretty much everything, so blogging is one of those things that fell by the wayside. I'm trying to pick it up again now though so let's hope I can keep it up! I'm not the most organised of people!

So, for some time, on a Sunday, I have been sharing a stitch pattern with my Instagram followers, and I thought it would be nice to bring that here too.

I might work backwards with this until I catch up but my first stitch pattern of the week for you will be Lace Ribbons, which I posted to Instagram just yesterday.

This stitch pattern is a personal favourite of mine. I think it’s just so pretty and I will use it in a design one of these days!

When I knitted this swatch originally I had a stocking stitch section running up the left-hand side. I think I was planning on using it as a cardigan edging, but it wasn't working out. It's a long time ago so I'm not clear on the details, but, if you are eagle-eyed enough to see the stocking stitch section, we'll just have to ignore it!

The Pattern

To work Lace Ribbons flat you will need a multiple of 13 sts plus 3. I cast on 42 sts and worked a 3x4 rib at the beginning. Instructions for the rib are not included here.

..

Row 1 (RS): *p3, ssk, k4, p3, k1, yo; rep from * to last 3 sts, p3.

Row 2 and all WS rows: as they appear to you, knit the knit sts and purl the purl sts, purling the yo’s.

Row 3: *p3, ssk, k3, p3, k1, yo, k1; rep from * to last 3 sts, p3.

Row 5: *p3, ssk, k2, p3, k1, yo, k2; rep from * to last 3 sts, p3.

Row 7: *p3, ssk, k1, p3, k1, yo, k3; rep from * to last 3 sts, p3.

Row 9: *p3, ssk, p3, k1, yo, k4; rep from * to last 3 sts, p3.

Row 11: *p3, yo, k1, p3, k4, k2tog; rep from * to last 3 sts, p3.

Row 13: *p3, k1, yo, k1, p3, k3, k2tog; rep from * to last 3 sts, p3.

Row 15: *p3, k2, yo, k1, p3, k2, k2tog; rep from * to last 3 sts, p3.

Row 17: *p3, k3, yo, k1, p3, k1, k2tog; rep from * to last 3 sts, p3.

Row 19: *p3, k4, yo, k1, p3, k2tog; rep from * to last 3 sts, p3.

Row 20: work as row 2.

Abbreviations: k - knit. p - purl. ssk - slip slip knit. yo - yarn over. k2tog- knit two together. rep- repeat.

And there you have it. Lace RIbbons. I hope you like it as much as I do.

Pin it Now and Use it Later...

If you use it for something or have an idea of what it could be used in, let me know in the comments below!
