Stitch on Sunday Blanket - Week One

If you follow me on Instagram, you will know that on most Sunday’s I post a photograph of a swatch with instructions for knitting the lace pattern it comprises of. These posts are some of my most popular and viewers love to bookmark them to use them later.

I decided I wanted to do something more with this. So I am changing Stitch on Sunday into something a little more useful

From today, Stitch on Sunday will now be a work in progress which we can all join in and do together to create the Stitch on Sunday Blanket.

Each week I will share a swatch with the instructions to knit it, but, as the weeks' progress, I will be adding each swatch to the last, creating a blanket of 40 lace swatches.

This will all be free for you to join in with. I will be posting the swatches here, but also over on Instagram and on YouTube. The YouTube version will show me knitting a little bit of the swatch so you can see exactly what you need to do to create your blanket.

You can scroll down for the pattern or head over to YouTube and Instagram right now to see week one. I will also send a weekly email to my mailing list, so if you would like an email once a week to remind you to work on your blanket, you can sign up here.

Week One - Lacy Triangles

Pin Now and Knit it Later!

For the entire blanket, I will be using James C Brett DK with Merino since I have lots leftover from when I was selling baby knits. It's a warm and soft yarn which is machine washable and, frankly, I won't use it for much else now.

I'm also using 3.5mm (US 4) needles as I like the tight-knit look that this gives the James C Brett.

Please feel free to use whichever weight, type, and style yarn you prefer. There are no rules on this blanket. I am really looking forward to seeing all the wonderful versions you create. The only reason I am telling you the yarn and needles I'm using is in case you do want it exactly like mine.
